The Budgerigar is one of Australia’s most recognisable and beloved native birds. Admired for its brilliant emerald, turquoise and golden plumage, it is instantly identified by its vivid colouring and cheerful personality. While cherished as a companion bird in homes around the world, vast flocks can also be seen sweeping across the Australian outback after seasonal rains - a spectacular reminder of the country’s extraordinary wildlife.
This design celebrates the Budgerigar alongside some of Australia’s most iconic native flora, including flowering gum, banksia, wattle and protea. Delicate botanical forms intertwine with the bird’s vibrant feathers to create a composition that is both joyful and distinctly Australian.
